| North American marks
For marketing of most electrical products in the USA and Canada, safety certification and the mark of a recognized Certification Body (SCC accredited for Canada and an OSHA accredited NRTL for the US) is required.
For many products, EMC emission testing is also required by a laboratory recognized by the US Federal Communication Authority (FCC) or Industry Canada (IC), such as Nemko. For Telecommunication products, FCC and Industry Canada approval may also be required.
Nemko can test and certify your Information Technology/Telecommunication products for all applicable requirements in Canada and for the Wireless aspects for FCC Certification. In addition Nemko can also certify equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use, Audio/Video and Similar electronic equipment, and Medical Electrical Equipment for Canada.
Regarding Electrical Safety Certification for the USA, Nemko has agreements with both CSA International (Canadian Standards Association) and MET (Maryland Electrical Testing), representing different options regarding level of recognition in different market segments and also different conditions as regards cost and lead time.
